What's the difference between home remodeling and a home addition?
Home remodeling transforms your existing space — opening up floor plans, updating finishes, reconfiguring rooms — without adding square footage. A home addition actually expands your footprint by adding new rooms or floors. Both are projects we handle, but they involve different planning, permitting, and construction processes.
How long does a home remodel take?
Most home remodels take 6 to 16 weeks depending on scope. A single-room renovation or open-concept conversion is typically on the shorter end; a whole-home interior renovation will take longer. We give you a realistic timeline upfront and update you throughout the project.
Do I need permits for an interior remodel?
It depends on the scope. Structural changes — removing load-bearing walls, relocating plumbing or electrical — require permits in Houston. Cosmetic updates like flooring, paint, and trim typically do not. We evaluate the scope with you and handle all required permits so there are no surprises mid-project.
Can you help with design and material selection?
Yes. We guide you through floor plan decisions, material choices, and finish selections — helping you stay on budget while making decisions you'll be happy with long-term. You don't need to come in with everything figured out, but we do need alignment on the scope before construction begins.
